When Men Do Not Cry
A Haiku Series
When men do not cry The tears become acidic Destroys from within When men do not cry Tears vaporize into gas Our breath poisons us When men do not cry We think it shows that we’re strong But we miss long hugs When men do not cry The liquid slowly fills up We then drown ourselves When men do not cry It’s ‘cause we think we should not We fear looking weak When men do not cry We rage and scream and lash out We miss our mothers When men do not cry We hope to still be noticed Loneliness hurts bad When men do not cry We betray our own feelings We are more than rage When men do not cry Our emotions suffocate Which can be deadly When men do not cry The tears don’t just disappear They’re passed to others When men do not cry We stifle our parenting Sons inherit pain When men do not cry We become highly stubborn Can’t hear woman’s voice When men do not cry Instead of starting to heal We start World War III When men do not cry We hold, carry, and suffer At some point, we break When men do not cry It’s like a balloon filling Which must, some day, pop

So good. I wanna share it everywhere!
